This year I'm not going to bother to say I'm going to lose 20 pounds or give up chocolate or any of that. This year I plan to do what I really love and concentrate on happiness that already exists in the world instead of striving for that dangling carrot of a better world tomorrow, new slender thighs, etc...
I've been singing these songs all my life so the only thing that changes is that I'm going to record them. Each Smiths song, in order by album, by the end of 2010. No frills, music, nothing. Just my voice. What ever happens next, is what ever happens next.
*2020 Edit*
Wow, I seriously had no idea what I was in for with this project. It became an all-consuming 1300 hour project of determination and discovery. I met so many amazing people, and really stretched my vocal and recording skills. To listen back is to follow the journey of me learning and growing as I sang my way through the year. I pushed past endless obstacles of time, creativity, and emotions and in the end, it was my way of subconsciously working through the grief of losing my my two friends the previous year. Their deaths were catalyst for realizing I needed to do something in case I were to suddenly go and leaving nothing of value for MY loved ones. I'm proud of what I accomplished and I hope you enjoy listening to my personal journey of rediscovering myself through the songs that saved my life.
